Guys I'm PSYCHED! So pleased to have been selected to join the Design Bloggers Spring 2017 tour to High Point Market in North Carolina in just a couple of weeks. The organized tours happen every show (twice per year) and are hosted/sponsored by Esteem Media and several of the exhibitors (more on them later). High Point is the most important home furnishings and design trade event in North America and is right up there alongside Paris's Maison et Objet and Salone del Mobile in Milan and the top three in the world. Esteem Media is a luxury media company with holdings in the print, digital and live event realms. Esteem print brands include Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle and New England Home magazines. The company also hosts the annual Design Bloggers Conference — another event on my must-attend-someday list!

Here's the whole crew I'll be hanging with. Clockwise from top left:
Courtney Allison of frenchcountrycottage.net,
moi
Elle Cole of ellecoleblog.com
Nina Magon of livestylishdaily.com
Michiel Perry of blacksouthernbelle.com
Rhoda Vickers of southerhospitalityblog.com
Laura Umansky of laurauinteriordesign.com
Ruthie Staalsen of decrenew.com
Jana Platina Phipps of trimqueen.com, and last but way so far away from being least:
Lisa Mende of lisamendedesign.blogspot.com

I'm looking so forward to meeting the new peeps and reuniting with the most excellent Ms. Mende, who is a kindred spirit. I haven't been to High Point in a few years but If course I follow from afar via social media every April and Oct. This time I'll get to jam my own feeds with all the delicious visuals, so I hope you will follow along. I can already tell there's good stuff coming because the announcements and sneak peeks have started to arrive in my inbox. That opening photo is a tantalizing grisaille roomset from the folks at Berhardt Furniture. Since they are one of the tour sponsors I will for sure be getting an in depth tour of this booth. I'm already loving every last one of those sculptural tabouret tables. Here's the complete list of tour sponsors:

High Point Design Bloggers Tour Sponsors

I am very familiar with some of these brands, others not so much. As part of the tour, I'll be bringing you the news from these showrooms and so much more right here on The Design Edit, as well as on my other social media feeds, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest

Always a high point at High Point (sorry, couldn't resist), is getting to meet the big name designers who are either speaking at the show, singing their book or launching their own collections. Here are the design stars I'm hoping to meet:

Windsor Smith

Windsor Smith

Windsor Smith. Love her work and have often featured it in editorials back in my print days. Her style is this fun mix of boho, equestrian, coastal and classic all rolled into one. She always strikes a great balance between refinement and comfort. Here are some sneak peeks and pieces I'll be seeing at the Century Furniture showroom.

Here's that stunning Clara Tête-à-Tête in situ. (Although, I feel compelled to point out that this is not, in fact, a tête-à-tête but is actually a borne or borne settee.) Whatever you call it, it sure is pretty!

Join me in a moment of quiet reflection over the talent that is Windsor Smith. I could happily disappear for hours in this room.

Jeffrey Bilhuber

Jeffrey Bilhuber

New York superstar designer Jeffrey Bilhuber is launching a collection for Henredon Furniture and it will take all of my powers to resist my urge to fan girl all over the poor man. My Canadian genes should serve me well in this regard. Seriously, I'm a HUGE fan. Here's an homage:

Also on the must-see list will be the new Celerie Kemble collection for Eastern Accents. As you know, I'm a textiles nut so it's kind of a no-brainer that I'll be lapping up this bedding collection. Here's a pretty preview from Ms. Kemble herself:
